Alamo Heights baseball coach Stan Gideon is resigning to take a similar position at Class 5A Justin Northwest, he said. Northwest is near Fort Worth and competes in District 5-5A.
Gideon, 42, is 307-156 in 14 years as a head baseball coach, including 194-105 in nine seasons at Heights. Under Gideon, the Mules advanced to the Class 4A regional semifinals in 2004 and 2007, further than any team in school history, and reached the playoffs seven times.
His replacement at Heights could be named as early as next week, athletic director Gene Phillips said.

Looking forward to meeting him and tychcoson#1 playing for him.

Coach Gideon is a good guy and a good coach. He used to live close to me in Arlington when he was the coach in Granbury (now that is a long commute). Northwest got themselves a good one!

Gotta love the pro-active approach new athletic director Susan Elza (formerly Asst. AD Allen ISD) is taking at Northwest! She just added Robert "Bob" Macy (formerly Keller Central HS Asst. Varsity) to the baseball staff! Another great program addition!
