No one ever seems to talk much about this game, BUT in my very humble opinion, it is a huge deal to be invited to the Texas Scouts Association Game.

The players that went probably got a meal the night before, a talk by a scout or two, some practice and then a great experience the day of! Congrats if your son was one of the lucky few...

For anyone wondering...

Basically this event is like a shortened version of Area Code Tryouts. They make 2 "teams" one coming from the North the other coming from the South. Your team has a workout session (60yd., Batting practice, infield and outfield). After this all happens they play an intersquad game of the North players playing each other and the South players playing each other.

It was really interesting to see the number of scouts there. Its also not bad to watch your son make his draft video which is also done that day.

So these players are all O9s for the player draft next June? Is there a website we can view the videos?

I think Magruder & Lipka are both 2010 grads.

Draft Video? Did I miss something?

It was a great experience for our son!

The MLB Scouts that spoke represented MLB in a great way! They truly insprired the young men that anything is possible within the next 10 months! We all hear the % and odds are against players... but the stories of young men that have beat the odds was worth the drive to Austin!

I was impressed with the whole event. The kids seemed to be relaxed even though there where a lot of scouts there. The video talked about was video shot during the scrimmages.

Yea the video was shot during the scrimmage as well as during the batting practice and infield and outfield.

There were a ton of scouts and watching these kids play was eye opening. They did seem very relaxed and they were very good as well.
