Our school-Richardson Hs-got to play a district
game at the ballpark in Arlington. It was a great
thrill for the boys and the parents as well!!Seeing your son on the mound at a major league
ballpark is a dream come true for both of us!!The boys were in the dugouts, bullpens and most importantly, on the field itself!! All of the adults were just as thrilled as the boys, with
everyone taking tons of pictures and videos.I just want to thank the board of RISD for arranging it with the Rangers. If your school has
a chance to do, make sure you do.It is an experience you will never forget.

I agree with Eagle Dad...we too played at the Ballpark, even though we lost 8-7 to Lake Highlands, for the boys (and the parents) it was the highlight to a difficult season (won-loss). I had one son leading off, playing centerfield and another hitting in the 2 hole playing second base. My oldest son homered at the Ballpark (over the left center field wall) and he will likely remember it (and showcase the ball) for the rest of his life. His next at bat he hit one further than the one that cleared the fence but to straight away center, it was run down by a great play by the center fielder on the center field warning track. Other than the DMN giving the credit for the HR to the younger son, the "bomb" highlighted his senior season and made it much more memorable...My sophmore went 1-3 and was excited about having the opportunity to run down a shot in the centerfield gap at the Ballpark. I havnt seen my kids that excited about "the game" in quite a while. It reminded me of when they were younger and were playing for the first time or playing their first night game under the lights. It was fun to watch.

Thanks Rangers, thanks RISD!

Heres what I heard which can be taken with a grain of salt. You commit to selling a thousand tickets that you pay 6,000 for up front. You can sell those tickets for face value (12.00) and you clear 6,000. Ticket gets you into the park that day and a ranger game during a specific date. There are four to choose from. Contact the Rangers on their website for more details. Its a partnership Hicks is working on to fill seats and build a fan base.

That's cool. As a Berkner grad wish I'd have known as I would have arranged my schedule to go watch.

PISD did something similar at Roughriders facility in Frisco.
