the Biggest suprise is 3A Decater in not in the top 10 ??? Due to injuries they have been without there two best pitchers until last week, (also there two biggest bats) look for them to go deep in the playoffs again this year.

I heard Decatur has outlawed Rugby (the cause of one of the injuries)

The only parts of the 5A part of this poll that makes sense is Flower Mound and Wylie. Wylie isn't even listed in the DMN Poll but should be next week after beating Allen. A saw a lot of the central Texas talent 2 weeks ago and they are weak at best. Austin WestWood looked good and had a coach that looked like he knew what to do in order to win a game but other the westwood there didn't seem to be a lot to be concerned with.
This poll is weighted to much to the south.
On a personal note, Coppell did nothing to be dropped from this poll. Wylie might give Coppell a game but most likely still end up with the L.
Overall, this poll has gone from Ok to not close to accurate.
Flower Mound spanked Klein Collins so how are they 3 and 4? If any team needed drop from the top 10....it would be KC.

centex talent is at best weak? interesting. westwood is good. Round rock beat westwood. Kilcrease no hitted them. I'm not saying that the northern teams are not talented by any means, but how can you bash centex teams?
I dislike these rankings so early in the season...especially without Coppell in that mix. Sure, there are some deserving teams right there. But, this early in the season it always seems like a glorified ranking based by record a lot of the times. Just a view from a player's perspective.

No real offense meant, I based most of my opinion on talking to a 5A HS coach - centex based. In his opinion most teams he will face have a good 1 and that is it. I didn't see anything that would lead me to beleive other than what he said. He felt the teams coming out of Region 4 wouldn't match-up well against the Region 1 or 2 teams. Also the centex teams in Region 1, mostly District 14, I think, would hold there own but still face the pitching challenge. The point he was making was the Region 1 centex team were much better than the Region 2 ro Region 4 centex teams. What I got out of his long comments were other than District 14, centex wasn't as strong as most people think. That guy gets paid for his opinion plus I added some of my own observation to get to my earlier post. I am always looking around the state for good baseball. Please point out some teams with two or three quality pitchers/starters in centex for me to follow, post their results and I will pay attention. That is what I like about this board.

meatsdad, no offense taken. I dont mean to brag about the Rock but if you want to see a good pitching team, Check out RR. Through 17 games we have a combined team ERA of 0.58 We have seven quality pitchers. If our offense upholds then we have a good chance this year. Westwood is good, and Georgetown has a very good outfielder, Runey Davis (Texas Bound).
What's wrong with Klein Collins' ranking? Yeah, Flower Mound beat them...but notice that Flower Mound is ranked above them. The only south team I don't agree with is Bellaire. The DFW area wouldn't know this but Bellaire's preseason and district schedule is a CAKEWALK. There is no competition whatsoever. But KC has every right to be there. We took them to extra innings before they ended up beating us. I got the chance to pitch against them and every player they have is a threat to lay down a bunt or drop a bomb.
Oh and watch out for Katy. It might sound weird but I think a #4 ranking just might be underrated. Those guys are good
