Was this a world series qualifier or a regioal qualifier? I thought a world series qualifier had to have 16 teams in it?

I really hope the AABC would not qualify a team for the MMWS from an 8-team tourney.

THERE USED TO BE A RULE THAT THE TOURNAMENT HAD TO BE 16 OR 24 TEAM. AS A MATTER OF FACT IF I RECALL CORRECTLY IT WAS CANCELED ONE YEAR DUE TO THAT EXACT FACT.

A sad day for AABC.

A sad day for AABC.

Sad indeed. I am disappointed that AABC would allow such a thing to happen as it cheapens the experience.

Like I said, follow the money trial.

Ken from my perspective it appears there is just not the interest at the 16U level as it was in the past. If you look at the past few years at the MMWS the competition level has really been down and so has attendance. Question, how much longer will it continue to be in the Dallas area?

With the issues expressed last year about the MMWS on this board I would say it won't be long before it is in another location. I am not sure why it has declined but it is definitely not what it used to be. I would think the AABC would act now or watch it fall to the wayside as so many others have. The prestige of the AABC.....winning your way in to me is still the best route to pursue.

The move to the Qualifiers seems to have backfired. In my humble opinion (Except for the CM). Of course with the system the way it is you need to work within the system to take the best advantage of the process.......is it the best way? Probably not, but what are the circumstances that led to the qualifiers?

I hate to say it, but it seems like Guthrie’s rants and raves have more substance than first perceived.
