Lamar scored in the first then Martin went ahead in third. The Vikes tied at top of four then took the lead again in the fifth. The Warriors countered to go ahead in the bottom half.
Lamar fought back to tie again in the sixth.
Both teams were held in check until Robby Martin of Lamar skied one to the wall in center to bring in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth. Lamar sat 'em down 1-2-3 in the ninth.
There was a little bit of everything but one of the best plays occured in the seventh: lead-off single followed by a drive to right center that looked like it was falling in. The runner took off on contact and was approaching third when Keith McConnell made a sliding catch just off the ground for one and tossed to first for an easy DP.
Game would have ended right there.....
......you gotta love baseball!
