When does the new state poll come out? It should be coming out pretty soon. I'm interested to see where the Dallas teams end up in these polls.

I'm guessing Rockwall will be ranked high. I'm guessing maybe Allen or Flower Mound might get ranked in there, but I see this poll being dominated by Houston teams, i.e. The Woodlands, Tomball, Bellaire, Elkins, Clements, etc. And throw in CC Moody being the only south Tejas team in there.
This is my top 5. But really it's anyones guess.
1. The Woodlands
2. CC Moody
3. Rockwall
4. Tomball
5. Bellaire

Bellaire (14-2), they better not be in the top 5 after losing to a private school...

Elkins (12-4) and Clements (13-5) will probably be in the 6-10 range...

The Woodlands (16-1), Tomball (16-1), and Lamar (17-1) should be the highest ranked GHA teams on there...

Wow! I agree Heater. I'd replace a few teams on the bottom half and stick those teams that you mentioned in their place. JMO

Wow, I can't believe that Lamar did not make the list. Fossil Ridge does not belong on that list over Lamar, that is for sure.

No way Kingwood is the 3rd best team in Greater Houston much less the 9th best team in the state.

I expect there will always be some
arguement over rankings but I'm curious
why they list top 10 in 5A and top 25
in 4A.

Also, I've seen #12 Highland Park play and
I've seen #22 Poteet play and I didn't think
HP could play on the same field with Poteet.
Didn't Poteet run rule the HParkers?

highland park is way down from years past, they must be ranked so high because of their reputation. i don't know how highly poteet should be ranked, but it should definitely be above hp.

Also, Poteet is ranked 2nd in area ahead of Sherman which has beaten Poteet twice!! And yes #22 Poteet did run-rule #12 HP!! Although HP was missing 2 of there top players, a top pitcher, and the home run leader. These guys would have made a difference. But......

My point is that these polls are really never very accurate and don't mean just a whole heck of a lot!!! But they are fun to debate!!

Princeton being ranked 4th in 3A is a suprise to me. I know they are undefeated but who have they played? Morris looks as though he is having a big year up there, maybe Forney and Princeton will cross pathes in the playoffs.

I have seen both Forney and Princeton play this year. Forney has great pitching and so does Princeton it would be a great matchup. Forney with it's tradition and tough schedule should be ranked higher. But with the state poll the record is going to be deciding factor for ranking.

LD BELL is NOT 17-1 they have lost atleast 2..got beat pretty good by coppell
dont know about fossil ridge
henderson and denton ryan should definitely be on top of 4a along with calallen
poteet is tough with blue and testa but just dont have much hitting other than roberts and raaser
also think tomball could be higher..probably 2
woodlands tomball rockwall FM and Moody look to be pretty stout...
region with woodlands rock tomball and east texas teams will be TOUGH..whoever comes out of that region is my pick to win it all

I'm with you Dbat...If I was asked to vote, I would have Tomball at #1 and Rockwall at #2. Tomball is a really good team with Patton on the mound; and as a bonus, this season he is hitting consistently and is a major contributor when he doesn't pitch. Elkins does look pretty good to. I think his name is Gooch that is doing so well for them.

Mr. Moon
Good question on the top10/25. I wrote to
THSB mag and Doug Recio responded:

"The reason for the top 25 in three of the classes but not in the others is the fact that more information was provided by 2,3, and 4A classification. Phone calls were made, newspapers were researched, and emails were received, but there was not enough information to put more in the polls. THSB Magazine does not claim to be the expert in compiling the polls. It would be impossible for the few people we have working to accomplish that. I do not even want to assume that roll. The mission of the magazine is to promote players, coaches, and teams. It is a shame but many coaches (and I should say most) do not promote their programs for whatever reasons."

Maybe they just need some 'better' input.
But, to second an earlier opinion; sure
makes for some interesting commentary.
