Are there any tournament matchups that ya'll know of which would shift the rankings? I know that Round Rock will play The Woodlands AND Midland Lee in one of the first two tournaments of the year.. those should help shift the rankings.

Its not a tournament but in the pre season Irving will play arlington, and the two pitchers that are starting are big league prospects. Beaven v. Osmand
Georgetown plays Cy Fair, Southlake Carroll, Houston Westside, Colleyville and CC Moody - just to name a few. There will be a chance to mess up some rankings in those games.

I believe that is a scrimmage, so it will have no bearing on the rankings.

It's Osman (not Osmand)... who throws hard yes, but struggles at times with location with all pitches. I don't know if I'd call him a big league prospect. I'd call him tons of potential waiting for the right coach to make it all click... oh wait, that IS a big league prospect. He's a great kid, and I wish him the best. Maybe he can dominate Irving and have a little success at the plate. My hopes also go out to their catcher, Mike Ritter. Probably a good thing when your first scrimmage (he told me they scrimmaged them first every year) is against BA Youth Player of the Year.

I wouldn't call these matchups "important", but 4A McKinney North plays 5A teams Allen, Lakeview Centennial, FM Marcus, Garland Naaman Forest and Mesquite this year in non-district games and scrimmages other 5A teams Creekview, Keller Central and Newman Smith.
Can't wait for it to get here!!

Ya it will, two pitchers that can definatly light up a radar gun, but like all scrimmages these are to let the coach get an idea of where his team is at, so I don't think they will throw complete games
am i right???

Keller will be there also, trying to ruin everyones year. It's a great tournament and the boys use it as a bonding experience shaving a mohawk (ya know, Indians) in everybodies head Friday night.....Then we get to shave the rest of it Sunday so they can go to school on Monday
Scrimmages... Forney Waxahachie Arlington Martin Haltom Richland
Tournaments... Waco ISD - open with Corsicana South Grand Prairie...pool play, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Dallas Christian Arl. Lamar/Sam Houston - play winner of Haltom/Sam Houston

I look forward to meeting several from the Texas Forum.

PD Have you found the Tyde Classic bracket information? I can't find a web site with tournament information on it.

Are there any more interesting scimmages? I realize they won't change rankings-or maybe even say a lot about how good a team really is or isn't, but there might be some individual head-to-head match ups that are of interest. As previously mentioned, Osman and Beaven. Two kids who can light up the radar gun. I'm pretty sure Jesuit plays Little Elm which I'm curious to see what they have but it's no big top 25 scrimmage.

Looks like a busy weekend for us. My 13u team will be somewhere around here playing Triple Crown Tournament and JV son will be in Granbury. Love this time of year!
