With the 9-5A alignment this year which teams figure to be the higher ranked teams right now? Is there going to be some renewed rivalries?

Don't know the answer about the ranking because Wylie is new to the district but it should be a fun year.

It's all about pitching (as usual) -- I don't see an offensive juggernaut in 9-5A in 2007. Allen may have the most pitching experince, followed by West. I know nothing about RHS or Berkner, but Plano and East will have new starters this spring. Oh...and...DUNNO 'bout AHMO.

Historically, Berkner struggles. They have one kid (lead off) who is extremely fast and I think he was a junior last year. Their offense revolves around him getting things going. Lack pitching depth--weirdest field to ever play at in HS. Not saying it's bad, just fyi.

Oh yeah -- the older two played on their t-ball field in the old 9-5A days. It can make a game interesting.

Who are the two seniors who can "hit 90" at Plano West?

PD- what is "AHMO?"

AHMO = a Wylie thing -------- Merckling & Rosborough (at West) may hit 90 on occasion. Rosborough had a good year in '06 - Merckling's innings were limited. They're both football players as well. Mark Guest made a nice contribution for the Wolves last year.

Jason Coates (sp?), maybe the nicest swing I've seen at the '08 level.

I think alot of these kids have played against each other since 10 years old. Different fields same kids, we'll see what happens.

I agree on West having a good pitching staff. They also have a junior lefty Derick Davis I believe that pitched well at JV last year.
I also hear that Lake Highlands usually has a good program each year.
My guess is LH, West and Allen will be the teams to beat this year.
There are a lot of kid's playing each other that have been on teams together since T Ball so a lot of competition with some bragging rights will be abound for sure.

Lh has no returning serniors (that were juniors last year). They will be young... but should be competitive.

Plano West will have to prove they can hit for more than 1 or 2 runs per game to go along with that pitching. Jason and whoelse?

I haven't heard about the Plano kids but I do know coaches do check my space and have some rules in place for how a player uses it.
the kid's surely know that and if not they may now!!
