Brawl in Cubs Farm System

Two second half contenders in Midwest League 'A' Ball. Peoria (Cubs) vs Dayton OH (Reds)

The contest was marred by a bench-clearing first-inning brawl that resulted in a 69 minute delay.

Free-Agent DR Pitcher for Peoria Chiefs arrested and jailed on felony charges.

Local MD Ump J Amaral working bases tossed many
including local VA HS star & UVA grad Brandon Guyer.

By time the umpires finally gained control, 15 ejections were handed out. After multiple conversations, the umpires disappeared and returned 10 minutes later to announce all of the ejections were reversed.

Oh my!

What a fiasco ... and to think a player would actually throw a ball at the opponent's dugout ... talk about needing anger management.

And altho this is really no laughing matter, I had to chuckle after reading this portion of the story:
"...by plunking Dayton shortstop Zach Cozart in the bottom half of the inning" ... exactly where on the body is the bottom half of one's inning?
