I've been reading the posts trying to figure out more about Zach Duke and the path he took to where he is now. Can someone fill me in on the backstory (where he played highschool/college, round drafted, path through the minors, was he a superstar always or did he steadily progress, ect) Thanks,

Rick

Rick,
Zach is from Clifton, TX, just outside Waco. Graduated from Midway HS in 2001, he had committed to Galveston College (go Whitecaps!) and then got drafted in the 20th round. Decided to go pro. Spent some time in 2002 in Lynchburg, VA (Low A) quickly moved up to Hickory (High A), spent most of last year with Altoona (AA), made a great impression in big league Spring Training, sent to Indianapolis(AAA) for financial reasons and was called up about a month ago.

Zach's father posts here on hsbbweb as OnePlayersPop. You can go to header options at top of this page, click "Go", then "Member Directory" to find his profile.
Or leave a PM in one of the forums.

Can we still reach him? I thought that he left the forum for good? I've read that he's a great guy, which is really cool, given his son's success. I've been a Pirates fan for 30+ years. Any success that we've seen over the past decade has been celebrated Red Face)
