Hello;

we will report the daily results of the
games for our three American teams on the <www.goodwillseries.org> web site.

Each team is coached by former MLB players, pro scouts and they will play 40 games against the best players in Australia.

Players, ages 14-18, from all regions of the United States will play with wood bats December 18 to 3 January 2007.

Today, it was 95 degrees in Perth, Western Australia.

My son was invited to attend this event so I would like to learn more about it from those who have gone before us. They will leave on December 14, 2007 for 16 days. It is an expensive proposition so I am trying to rationalize the investment.

What has been your overall experience with this Australian baseball journey with regard to the coaches, the competition, the host families, the logistics, the baseball instruction/education, the exposure to scouts, the meals, the transportation, etc.?

Son went with Bob and The Goodwill Series to both Australia in 2005, and Japan in 2006.
It was the absolute best 2 trips for baseball he's ever been on.
He went to both event's without his parent's along.
I thought it gave him a since of what College and or what the Pro life would be like. With the Travelling and hotel room, Different city's and teams they played.
The Teams in Australia are made up of state All-Star teams.
And you all know about the Japan teams, Very Tough.

These are memories that are priceless.

Our son went to Australia with Bob Williams in 2004, and our family went along also. It was a great baseball experience with some of the best people, and the rest of our family had a great vacation at the same time.

We ended up bringing the boy from son's host family over here to play summer ball with us, and took him to East Cobb. Also, the kids became friends with one of the Aussies who ended up signing with the Twins, and he now stays for a week or two after each minor league season, before heading home to Perth. He's 19 so they all get along quite well. Can't believe he's about to finish up his third pro season.
