raiders, That is AWESOME. I saw your son pitch 3 times in the MWL in 2005 and in the MWL All Star game that same year. What a thrill. Best wishes for a great outing, continued success and good health. What a tremendous thrill that your son has worked so hard to earn. BTW, hope you will be sitting in the stands enjoying every second.

Raiders..., Many congratulations to your son and family. The hard work is paying off. FYI, when my son got called up I also got to quickly arrange transportation to Milwaukee. And then your son gets to pitch at Wrigley too!

I love to follow our websters' sons in pro ball, and of course it is especially exciting when they make it to "the show"! Congrats to Sean, what a great start to the year with an ERA of 0, one hit and no walks or runs in 2 IP. He's only 22 years old. Also I love to go back and read the PG reports from 3, 4, 5 years ago and see how the kid progressed. In 2004 he was throwing 86-88 mph and still developing some of his pitches (I think that was his senior year of HS?). Now he's pitching in MLB. Fun to follow, fun to imagine raiders3604's pride and joy for Sean. And although my son is long past HS, I would imagine it's inspiring for parents of current high school prospects to look at this and see a real life example that dreams DO come true! Congratulations and continued success to Sean!  Julie |

Count me in as one who loves reading them... I do go over to PG Crosschecker and read them at times - but having them here as a part of the discussion is really nice. Thank you for sharing. BTW - I also used crosschecker as a means of "scouting" baseball programs that my son was considering - e.g. who is already there and, for those who have not gotten a lot of innings, what kind of competition are they likely to provide. Provides some interesting input. 08 |

Here is one we wrote on Sean before his senior year in high school.
2004 PG World Showcase
Gallagher is a strong, physically mature pitcher who threw very well for us in Fort Myers. He has a compact, quick arm action and gets good downward plane to the plate from a high 3/4’s release point. He also gets good use of his lower half in his delivery. Gallagher’s fastball stayed pretty steadily in the 86-88 mph range and he’d get some late sinking and boring action on it down in the strike zone. He’d occasionally turn it over at 83-84 mph and get even more sink to it. Gallagher’s breaking ball was a 65-66 mph curveball that had good spin and a tight biting action to it. He’ll need to speed this pitch up a bit for pro ball, to make it more effective given his fastball velocity but the fundamentals and ability to spin it are already there and the adjustment should be fairly easy. He shows a great feel for the mound and that no fear approach scouts love to see. He's a highest level college guy and he might create some serious pro interest.
Seems like years ago, I can remember those drives to Ft Myers as if they happened yesterday. I still follow a lot of the players that I remember who attended the Showcases with Sean as well as lots of players that I have met following Sean. The experience of attending these Showcases prepared Sean for playing against the Elite. It been a great past year for Sean but it also has come with hard work as Sean dropped 35lbs during the past offseason. He looks really great and that dropping the weight helped him with his mechanics. I want to thank everybody for their kind words and want to wish everybody the best of luck. I hate to say this but what I love the most is that I get to spend this weekend at "Wrigley" watching the Cubbies and the D-Backs. Once again thank for the kind words...... |
