The Dbacks did some work this off-season to make room for Upton's bonus/contract. It will be interesting to see where he starts this spring, and what they will do with two solid shortstops in Upton and Drew ... some have pondered that Drew is ready to start in Phoenix this spring (and altho I think he is very very good, am not sure he is quite there yet) and that Upton won't be far behind. Just don't know where they are going to put them both down the line ...

Oh well, not really my concern ... I am just glad neither one of them is a pitcher biglaugh

Futureback Mom,

Justin is such a great talent that I am sure he will play and probably in the outfield. He is so fast that playing him in the infield would be a real waste of talent. He runs a 6.23 sixty.
He will find his way into the outfield and use that speed to make game changing plays.

Justin signed for a reported $6.1 million the largest ever for a drafted player who signed a minor league contract. http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/art...i&fext=.jsp&c_id=ari

Six million (6,000,000) for a position player, huh. Expensive, I could accept it for a good ambidextrous pitcher not for a position player.

FutureBack.Mom, They will probobly give Upton a chance at SS because he has it in his contract but he makes too many errors, he was moved to third last year in HS. He probobly will be moved to center field.

Am looking forward to seeing him play and would imagine that if he is as mature on the feld as I have heard, he will meet up with ours sooner rather than later.

Based on the story I read, he will attend spring training as a non-roster invitee ... that is quite a jump from high school ball I would imagine.

Just glad the Dbacks finished this before ST ...
