What if we never played perfect game? Do you know a phone number to Jerry. What, then just ask him if so in so is a prospect? Thanks for your help. I think my son should have signed with creighton already. This makes me nervous.

another question. If you are drafted out of high school and your playing a baseball game during the draft. Will they just come and take you away from the game and now you are done with high school games?

Worrymom - Here's the link for Perfect Game.
http://perfectgame.org/

If a player is a top prospect, it's kinda like having a kidney stone..... you know it. Now, as far as being a lower round prospect, there's nothing to worry about. Most of those players don't sign... they take their college offer and play ball for three years or they go to a JUCO and get stronger to be a (hopefully) higher draft pick.

As far as a drafted player and his HS season, no they don't "just take you away". When a player is drafted, there's negotiations to complete before the player leaves to join his organization. Some players accomplish that in a few days while others take months. An organization doesn't want to take a HS or college player away from the completion of their season.... they stay and finish things there first.

Thankyou. We has never played for perfect game. And he has not signed with any collage yet. Do you have to play for perfect game to be looked at?

Mom - I assume you mean by pro scouts? No, a player does not have to play for perfect game to be known and watched by scouts. I gave you the link because you had asked about reaching them.

As far as college goes, there's plenty of time. I don't think a player should ever sign early if the perfect fit isn't there. Right now, your son should just focus on continuing to find that correct fit.... returning calls, going on visits, staying in shape. That should be his primary "worry" right now. Then, if he was to be drafted he'll be fortunate to have the choice of college vs. minor league ball.

There is a recruiting forum you might want to check out... lots of helpful ideas and conversations there as well as the recruiting timeline which is at the front of the site.
