i don't like talking about this stuff, but i'm going to.
my son was released this spring. he threw for a few team's before he left fla. had a chance to play in germany. some calls from independant teams in the midwest. i guess nothing felt right to him, but he wasn't ready to give up, yet.
he ended up playing indy ball in the can-am league. (indy ball makes the milb paycheck look like the lotto.) but it was only 70 miles from home. he and his fiance live a town over from us. so it worked for him. good bunch of guy's, fun wayching him play again.
well, last night he also became the proud father of a baby girl. Madison. 8.4 20.5 inches. i found myself watching him holding his newborn, thinking how cool this was for them (and a ton of other sappy things.) now i know why the new team fit so well.
If it's true that we're all here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Turns out there is more to life than baseball! Congrats to you and your family. How special that they live so close. Babies are magical and melt your heart, especially when they're your grandchildren.
Good luck and have fun with this new adventure

Congratulations on becoming a Granddad! It is an amazing experience. My oldest daughter made me a granddad as well 8 weeks ago. It creates perspective! (sorry jerseydad, didn't mean to step on your line, lol)
