The Minor League Baseball site has an interesting feature where they highlight the week's upcoming 10 "best" promotions at the minor league ball parks. On today's site, the following blurb highlights an upcoming promotion at the Pirates' AAA Altoona franchise which will honor one of their top pitchers, and OPP's son, Zach Duke:

Altoona Curve (Eastern League)
Dukes of Hazzard Night

Thursday, June 23
One of the top shows in TV history and one of the top pitchers in Altoona Curve history converge at Blair County Ballpark for this promo. In addition to reliving clips from the hit 1980s show featuring the infamous Duke boys, the first 2,500 fans at the park will take home a bobblehead doll featuring the Curve's own Duke -- 2004 star pitcher Zach Duke, who is currently 11-3 for Indianapolis and tied for the overall Minor League lead in wins.

That is really cool and I am sure Zach will be making his MLB debut sometime this season (JMHO).

Perhaps you can check the on-line "store" for the Altoona Curve ... you might be able to find something there ... presuming they have anything left.

Tried that, but they didn't have them for sale. I may try to email them, just in case they have one tucked away!

Ok I had to go the ebay route, but I HAD to have one!!! I did go out to a sports bar tonight and watch most of the game. Not your best outting, but Zach, you are my favorite MLB pitcher. Still I can hardly get over the fact that you beat my long time fav, Greg Maddux. Hubby was so amused at me that night.

We are so proud to have met you.

Was that someone here that did that? That is pretty cool that he has his own fan club. That is a good looking card too.

Hirrel,
thanks for the update. I have to look to see if we get the game, or if it's off to the sports bar for dinner Smile

This could get interesting as the Mets are my hubby's team!

I had a great dinner with hubby and one son. Even hubby had to smile and give it up to Zach, working a perfect game into the 4th, and a no hitter into the 5th.

Got to watch his 1st MLB single as well!!

The manager of the sports bar is orginally from Pittsburgh, and he broadcast the Pitt version of the game.

We love his intensity in the dugout, and wondered what might happen if Zambrano came up to bat after Bay's second beaning. I for one am glad Randolf took Zam out.

Way to go again Zach!!
