I posted this in the VA forums but wanted to share this story here as well.

This is the type of player every GM in baseball should be looking for.

From Today's Washington Post a wonderful article on Ryan Zimmerman as many of us oldtimers here can attest, Ryan is one heck of a young man who deserves everything that is coming to him!

What a great story, JustMom. Thanks for sharing the link. I had a hard time reaching it, though -- perhaps this one will work??

A wonderful story about the player my son calls "By far, the toughest 'out' I've faced in college baseball."

Thanks very much for sharing it, justmom.

Ryan Zimmerman played in my hometown of Harrisburg. He is just another of the many that are making us Senator fans proud. Very nice guy and he should do great as a starter this year.

"Practice."-Tiger Woods when asked what he would do after failing to make the cut at the U.S. Open.

"When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stone-cutter hammering away at his rock perhaps 100 times without as much as a crack showing. Yet at the 101st blow, it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before."

Ryan sounds like the real deal! Gotta have lots of extra admiration for Ryan and his family for all they have battled through.

Great, another reason to not look forward to Nats vs. Pirates!!!! pull_hair
