I really enjoyed finding this prospect article about rz1's son. I had followed Ryan through college and the start of his pro career, but this article does a great job of recapping his progress from HS until now.

i got to see him pitch in college on a roadie to FL. The Yankees got a steal in the draft, imo. It is a very nice article in one of the fan sites that are usually tough on prospects. Ryan had an awesome 2008. He could make some noise this year and raise his stock even higher. I'm hoping he spends some time at the high A level this year so I can see him pitch during the regular season, before he moves up through the system.

Great article. Congratulations.
I will keep an eye out for his promotion to Trenton. It's about a half hour from my house.

Very cool! Might get to see him pitch this summer- Tampa plays the Lakeland TIgers frequently and we catch a few games. I'll have to keep up with him. Son's college teammate from Coastal played in Tampa this past year after getting drafted in June.

RZ1, that was an excellent article on your son! WOW!
He looks like a big league player already. Can't wait to meet you this summer before he gets the nod to Trenton:>Wink I also speak with the pitchers on their chart days behind the plate. I will probably get to meet your son too. I see 150+ FL State games every summer and sit with the scouts, right behind homeplate with my wife. Can't miss us, we stick out like a sore thumb-LOL I do have a speed detector device(stalker) thanks to Ted Whitmer who sold me his. I will videotape alot this summer. I have a new camera that is incredible if I can ever figure out how it works. I have enjoyed following players form the HSBBW messageboard and watching their success. I know I'm getting old because many of the players I scouted and promoted are now in the big leagues. It's intrinsically rewarding to witness a player like your son and watch their rise to the top. I have watched many players since moving to Florida some seven years back. Most of these players that reach this high A ball league are Top Prospects. I enjoy scouting the higher caliber players who are serious about this game I love. Your son Zink must be one of them.

Have a great Weekend everyone!
Shep
