Thanks for the reminder, TPM. It fits perfectly in the Going Pro category. I enjoy reading Dirk's humorous observations. Smile

Have fun!

He is quite a guy! He was my son's road roomie when my son was a freshman in college. I enjoy reading his weekly articles in the local newspaper.
If I came to a game wearing a short sleeve or sleeveless shirt he was the guy on the field yelling "suns out, guns out! He did very well in college and hopefully stays healthy and continues to do well as a pro. Then there's always that writing thing to fall back on.

Hey, TPM:

I think you wrote somewhere that there was a new minor league diary writer for Baseball America. I just saw that Dirk is still contributing.

Have fun!

Right you are, TPM. I missed that subtle distinction. It was still worthy of a bump.

Have fun!

Dirk is such a talented writer ... setting aside his humor, he writes almost poetically.

Is there a way to get all of his articles? Do you have to be a paid subscriber to BA (we let ours lapse)? I would like to share other articles with some of my friends.

Found the index in the archive ... never mind.

Not a non prospect any more...

Not sure if this has already been posted but Dirk got the call and made his debut on Saturday against the Giants - 4 innings pitched, 5 hits, 3 runs all earned, no decision...

Congratulations to a very talented young writer (and baseball player!!!)

Great news ... may he pitch many more.

And we all know he has a second future in writing when baseball is over for him.
