Travis, as far as I know UW and WSU both have camps at which coaches from other area schools are present.
I would also strongly recommend the Stanford camp in July if you can swing it at all. See the thread under "Golden Threads" for lots of info on the Stanford camp.

I thought about putting my kid into the California Underclass showcase as well. There are a large number of attendees.. what about scouts?
I was also looking at the California showcase that happens in August. It looks good because it doesn't conflict with Baseball Northwest. The only problem is it appears to be a smaller showcase.

Bum, I don't know about the scouts/coaches at the Cali Underclass. It is, however, well-attended by good players from all over the west. PGStaff would be the one to ask about scout/coach attendance....or maybe e-mail Blaine Clemens at PG, as I believe he is the main PG guy on the west coast.
BTW, hope we will cross paths this coming summer.

Thanks. My kid has done a lot of pitching this past year so right now I want him to focus on preparing for the upcoming season. I just don't see a lot available in August, which would be perfect schedule-wise, and PG has recently deleted the California showcase I referred to.
Yea, it would be great if our two kids could be on the same showcase team again! Let me know which one you might be going to and if it fits our schedule maybe we can meet up. If not, good luck on the upcoming season!
Dow, yes So. Cal. Did you think about going to the WSU camp in January in Pullman? My son will be there. Check out the Coug website if you're interested.

Ok, well I am having trouble deciding on which showcase to go to. I was invited to be on the Fall Scout team for BBNW this summer and had to pass on it because I was injured. I really wanted to attend the Fall Classic...so my question is whether to go to the California Underclass in January or the Fall Classic in August? It's mainly a budget things since we will already be playing summer ball. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Summer fees definitely take a big bite out of the budget!! Travis, I assume your summer team, being very respectable, will hit some big tournaments out-of-state this summer? Those will also provide good exposure. I know my son's summer team hits some big tourneys and were able to place every one of their seniors last season in a college program based on that exposure.
Bum, will R. be playing on a summer team that may play tournaments on the west side (or Wenatchee -- I think our team goes to some big tourn there every summer). As for showcasing, I have to wait to see what comes out on the PG schedule. I think last year, it was Jan/Feb before they really started to flesh out their summer offerings.......

Krakatoa, he will be playing for the Spokane Dodgers 17u team in mainly 19u tournaments. About 1/2 our team includes players ranked by BBNW. We're doing tournaments mainly in Pullman, Yakima, Montana, Tri-Cities, and Spokane. Let me know if T. is doing any tournaments in those locations so we can say hi. I don't see we're doing any in Wenatchee.
Dow, if it is a choice between the PG event and the Senior Fall Classic, I would definitely go with the Senior Fall Classic. There will be a ton of scouts there, and it's just before the early signing period so you may get an offer right away. Then, if it doesn't pan out, maybe you could do the PG uncommitted showcase later.

Ok, thank you both. I will just do the Senior Fall Classic. I have heard great things about it...and all I want is to be seen. Hope it all works out for the best. Please tell your sons good luck for this season.
