Do anyone have any information on the Stanford Baseball Future Stars Baseball Camp camp?

My son has been invited and I am wondering if it would be worth it.

This is the first time Stanford has offered this camp. It is set up specifically for rising juniors. The format looks similar to Prospect Camp held in June but with significantly fewer participates e.g. 100 vs 400 players (and apparently fewer coaches and scouts). It will be non-residential over the three day Labor Day weekend. Participant selection is lottery based as is the case with the prospect camp. Assuming it will be run similar to Prospect Camp it should be a great experience. Juniors won't have to compete with seniors for attention and all games will be played on Sunken Diamond. My 2011 is hoping to get selected. He had a great experience attending prospect camp in June.

Confirmation emails were sent out yesterday. It should be a great camp for 2011s.

We received the invite and have decided not to go for a number of reasons. SAT's are not done yet, first time event, limited number of other colleges, no onsite lodging, cost vs benefit does not add up.

Son was accepted and we are planning on attending. Can post feedback on camp if anyone is interested after attending. We're nearby so lodging is not an issue. Pricey but should be a great experience.

My son is going. He missed the lottery for prospect camp in June and really just wants to get a feel for both the university and the area. I grew up in Palo Alto, so its a chance for me to introduce him to all my old stomping grounds too. SAT's not taken yet, and like most, the reality of acceptance to Stanford and baseball there is pretty slim. But I encourage my kids to explore their options and dream big, while preparing for "sure things" as well. I feel lucky he has a grampa who helps with the costs of these things. Should be a neat experience that will fuel his drive to work hard even more.

After attending this camp i would say that this was one of the best experiances of my sons career. He will have memories that will last a lifetime from all the coaching that went on at this camp versus any other that we have been to. My son is a catcher and the coach they had there was one of the finest we have been around( dont know if i can mention his name)the work he put in with my son you could not put a price on. A few tweeks here and there went from a consistant 2.0 to 1.9 in 1 session, just a couple of small things that others have not picked up on before. Lots of tee work that i think is very crusial to evaluating a swing, my son enjoyed the practices and the games. So i think that the cost was ok for what my son recived from the camp. I would highly recommend this camp for anyone asking about it.
