What's up, Northwesterners? We are taking an enforced break for a couple weeks after Kevin tried to bunt with his nose (actually took a fastball in the face last week and broke his nose). He hopes to be back in the lineup for the Brandy Pugh tournament. How is everyone else doing?

Chaffey is doing well. We have many injuries. I figure nobody cares since Chaffey is "evil" in many eyes. I would like to express my disgust with the sportsmanship of Lakeside Recovery, both players and parents.

Baseball37,
I'd heard the Lakeside team had been pretty nasty against you guys. All the sweeter to have beatne them pretty soundly. (You're welcome! Cool)

HarborMom, glad to hear K-O's doing better. I know everyone will be glad to see him back at Brandy Pugh.

Legion ball for my son (Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen). He gave his dad a nice birthday present last night...a game winning grand slam against a team made up mostly of players from the HS team that beat his HS team in the Idaho State Championship! Big Grin

He had a great time a couple of weeks ago in Vancouver at the Cascade Classic. That's the high school seniors all-star game for Oregon, Washington and Idaho.

MrandMrsBaseball,

The reason for the "nastiness" is because Mikey Griffith is on our team. He won the state championship for Issaquah. Supposedly his high school coach told him he wouldn't play next season if he didn't play on Lakeside. The "nastiness" isn't secluded to our team either. Before our game a couple of days ago, Lakeside was playing the Bombers. After a Bomber single, a Lakeside parent made a comment about how their might actually be a "pearl in that oyster." Just another example of their ways. We play them tomorrow and I hope we kick the c--- out of them. Mickey is throwing, so it will be fun. Razz

We've been in the Chaffey tournament all week too (Skagit Sox).

Mike was going along pretty good against Stilly when he took a come-backer off the wrist in the bottom of four. Pretty bad bruise, but no break. Might take a couple days to get "right" though.

Been a pretty rough time for him this summer (thanks for bringing up state, I was almost over it!), he's not been throwing well, has way too many things going on, JMO.

I am glad he is okay! We saw that play, and I thought he might have broken his wrist.

Baseball37,

Looks like we play Chaffey Friday afternoon. Hope my son will be there; he goes to the doctor tomorrow to get the cast off his nose and find out when he can play.

baseball37,

What options would that player have if the coach didn't put him on the team? Does that really happen? Are these types of threats common when a player doesn't play for the HS legion team?

Catchersdad,

I was looking at the San Diego Summer Series tournament site and it lists the Rainiers as one of the participating teams. Are you heading down there at the end of this month?

Hope to see you next week when Poulsbo plays the Rainiers.

Harbormom,

Alex will be at the Area Code games instead of going to San Diego. He will be playing on the Texas Rangers team .He is in Clemson right now at their camp ad is being recruited hard, they took him right off the plane after flying all night and worked him out right away. He thought he did well and he may get a scholly offer today. He will be back on Thursday night and should be ready for games Friday.Looking forward to seeing you Kevin (and his broken nose) and your husband before you guys beat it for the heat!!!

Taylor won the Brandy Pugh tournament. Poulsbo defeated Wilkinson tonight at BCC. Looking forward to next week's games at Bellarmine; we're getting tired of driving to King County every night!
