Looks like theirs still no respect for Oregon baseball. Only 2 Oregon players on the team, almost all Washington. Funny but I don't think there were that many Washington players in the College World Series when OREGON State won it a few weeks ago. Sorry, just had to vent.

Well Oregon State still seems to think they are good enough because they've signed several Oregon players for next year and are contacting several 2007. I doubt they have lost their touch in recruiting all of a sudden.

Im sure they havent. But your post was about only 2 Oregon players on Area Codes.

I just dont think you can connect what the Beavers have done and who plays on Area Codes.

BTW, I saw a Beaver's coach in Bellevue WA watching Greg Peavey pitch this week.

The area code team has nothing at all to do with Oregon State and the CWS and just because OSU won doesnt mean that high school players in Oregon (right now) are better than WA players..

I'm not saying Oregon players are better than Washington players. Just saying that out of 22 players only 2 or from Oregon. That's not a Northwest team that's a Washington team. There are good players in both states and I'm saying that the Oregon players should get more respect than only having 2 players on the team.

I didnt watch the tryouts so i couldnt say if the represented Oregon players were better or not.

It's a Northwest team based on the home towns of kids trying out not the home towns of the final selection.

It would be nice if someone posted the tryout roster.

gpct8500,

..or, look at in another way. Eastern Washington has about the same population as Oregon. I didn't notice many if any from there. I believe it was an Eastern Washington team that won the Legion World Series last year.

I don't think it's by design, just that it's harder to get your name out there when you're living away from the major market areas. Maybe we can form our own combine.

Speaking to one of my son's coaches after the game last night, he said he was at the tryout for the Area Code team.

He said there were very few Oregon players at the tryout, and when he asked one of the scouts there about it, the scout said it was a light class as far as talent in Oregon.
