Spokane recently inked seven players to National Letters of Intent (NLI):

Bryan Peterson-West Valley (OF-Washington State)
Andrew Kittredge-Ferris (RHP-U of Washington)
Rusty Shellhorn-Central Valley (LHP-Washington State)
Trevor Shull-Central Valley (RHP-Centenary College)
Beau Brett-Ferris (1B-University of So. California)
Tyler Olson-University (LHP-Gonzaga)
Jarek Cunningham-Mt.Spokane (SS-Arizona State)

Scouts should check out Eastern Washington! Just look at the numbers..

1) Spokane population is about 1/8th that of Seattle, but just as many D1 players chosen
2) Eastern Washington area has about 1/3 the population of Western Washington, but an equal amount of D1 players who signed early NLI's
3) Some of the top high school baseball programs in the state are in Eastern Washington
4) Eastern Washington is especially deep in pitching talent

It looks like Eastern Washington is building a solid reputation for talent! Congratulations to ALL of the Washington boys.. eastside or westside.. who have recently signed NLI's!

Believe, plan, do.

Good one, Rob! Here's the scouting reports (Bum Jr. has played with every one of the players on the list--all but Olson are Spokane Dodgers)..

Peterson-- Projected to go in the first 5 rounds. Tremendous bat speed from left side. Known for soaring, 450 foot shots. Plus size, strength and speed. Top Sparq score. Played in Mariner Cup.

Kittredge-- Hit 94 Jugs in the Summer. Lives 88-89. Dominated with fastball. Good stuff as well. Played in Mariner Cup.

Shellhorn-- Bum Jr! Small in stature at 5'10" but excellent movement, curveball and fastball mid-upper 80's. LHP. Played in Mariner Cup.

Shull-- 6'4 kid who projects through the roof. Mid 80's fastball with plus movement.

Brett-- Nephew of George Brett. 9 HR for school team. Excellent approach and good size. Played in Mariner Cup.

Olson-- Mid-upper 80's fastball. Good size and projection. Nice slider. LHP.

Cunningham-- Ranked top 75 nationally (Student Sports). Fluid with good power and plus contact.
Played in Area Codes.

Sorry they weren't good enough for OSU, Rob! body-builder
