What's up with Gonzaga's recruiting class? A bunch of Arizona players and only one in-state high school recruit with one JC recruit. Does Gonzaga not believe in PNW players, or do they have trouble recruiting in their home territory? Obviously, they heavily scout AZ.
This has been going on for quite awhile. Even excerpts of their website says they prefer out-of-staters to bring national prominence to their program. Bum, Jr. wasn't given a whiff by Gonzaga although he would have chose the Cougs anyway. I respect Gonzaga for their own recruiting philosophy but lately they've taken some heat from the locals about this. Heard Machtolf has picked up a couple of local '09's and a few local walkons so hats off to Gonzaga.

You would think top players in their home state would be a priority. At least contact and speak with them. I don't understand the idea of ignoring the top kids in your own territory, especially with this year's strong Eastern WA class. I guess more power to them if they can maintain longterm success with that recruiting strategy.

Hey you East Side Insiders, we have heard rumblings over here on the west side that there might be some winds of change starting to blow at GU, is that just some former disgruntled alum or non-recruit blabbing, or what. We also heard GU landed (verbally) two of your best juniors, Partridge & Moon, good for them if they did. And who will we see at Safeco from the GSL, appears to be 3 or 4 strong teams in spokane this year. thx

After getting some local grumbling, they have gone after Max Manix (07), Tyler Olson (08), Billy Moon (09), and Jacob Partridge (09). Partridge is the most talented of the lot, and likely will be drafted high.

I understand Gonzaga has a line on a tall lefty out of Gila Ridge HS on the eastside of Yuma...he throws a real sharp slider with pin pr1ck precision...gets a lot of batters into really pr1ckly counts...kid's name is Saguaro.
Word is he may have trouble adapting to Spokane...too big of city.

Thx Bum you definitely got your finger on the pulse over there, I'm a little concerned about gotwood4sale...may have too much time on his hands, but I love the creativity. does CV and Ferris play next week? Man I'd like to see that. I guessing Shellhorn and Kittridge may hook up for one of the games. I'll have to check out the Spokesman next week

Old Cob, sorry I missed your post. Yes Bum, Jr. went against Kittredge. It was 1-0 our guys. Kitt K'd 10, Bum Jr 16. Hey Woody, that Saguaro kid is good, but his gotta watch his attidue. He can be a real pr1ck at times.
