We have started well. With 7 freshman in the lineup at Green River we are sitting at 7-4. We lost a couple of 1 run games, but the rookies learned a lot. We must be OK because every game more and more scouts are showing up. I pretty happy with the start because of the amount of young players. They have 35 doubles in 11 games which show they have some talent. We'll find out what we are made of in the Walla Walla Tourney next weekend.

Hey Rob, is Justin Leitch not playing anymore? My son played with him when he was 11 and 12 and have stayed in touch until recently. Read he was not playing. Good Luck today and hope the weather cooperates. Weather down here in Southern Oregon is dry but windy. We aren't scheduled to play until Friday.

gotwood, don't be to jealous, it snowed here in Oregon last week. Rest of the winter it has been flooding. Never fails, baseball comes and weather goes in the tank. Hope everything is okay with all that happened in the MidWest over the weekend.

LHP: I don't know Justin, but I remember him from last year's squad. He is not on the team this year. I thought he was a senior last year, but now that I think about it, I guess he is a senior this year. In any case he's not on the team, but I don't know why he's not playing.
Thanks gotwood... don't be too jealous: weather was 45 degrees, windy and spitting rain, but we got the game in. My kid did well. Caught the whole game, no ball touched the backstop.
Batted fourth, had a two rbi double and grounded out twice. Was beaned in last at bat (literally in the head - soft curve, glancing blow, no problem)
So, as far as his first JV game as a freshman, it was very successful. He's pretty jazzed. Thanks for asking.
Okay northwest people, any baseball the last few days? Weather was okay yesterday but rainy today and our teams first game is tomarrow. I think we will try to get it in as the other team lost to us last year and I think they want to get even. I am excited for the first game and will get the jug of tums out as my son is a pitcher. Then we have a game Monday and already a league game on Tuesday. Don't know why a league game so early.

My son's team was scheduled to play yesterday at Wilsonville. They have a nice field turf diamond, so unless it is raining hard at game time, the game is on. But it was a nice day.
The whole team gets there, ready to play..... oops. Wilsonville's AD forgot to tell the BB coaches that the game was scheduled (or at least that is the story.)
Hate to miss an opportunity to get a game in this time of year. And of course it is rainy today....
Learned today that Justin Leach decided to focus on his studies and not do any sports. Apparently he wants to be a surgeon, and so he's taking school very seriously.
Rob, thanks for checking into that for me. I am glad that it was a positive thing and not like some kids that have chosen the wrong path. Did you have any games today?

My son Mike plays for South Kitsap High School JV Team. He played his first high school game on Tuesday. He started thirdbase and went 3 for 4. He struckout the first at bat (nervous..lol) then singled, doubled, then hit a grandslam. He ended up with 6 RBI's and had had a heck of a game they beat Stadium High School 17-7. South Kitsap has a pretty good baseball program don't you think?
