Thanks for the information on the NW Star team and Bombers. We're looking forward to playing them both. We'll be playing in the tournament on June 22-24, and won't play NW Star unless its in the playoffs. You never know, but we'd like to compete with them.
Krakatoa, we love playing the Seattle Stars. We've played them before and would love to play them again, but there's no time on this trip. They're one of the better Washington teams we've faced over the years. We are doing a home and home with the Bend Elks/Bucks; and I'd love to do the same next year with the Stars if they ever come down this way.
Bob, We need to talk. I have new contact numbers with the new business, so I'll call you later this week. I'd love to discuss being "team mom" for another baseball trip down under. I'm sure we could round up high quality talent to play the Aussies. I know of some college players that would relish the opportunity to go back and play there again.
Regarding summer ball, we don't have three weeks to wait to play, we actually played in a northern CA tournament over the holiday weekend just ended. We played teams from Sacramento, Fairfield, Watsonville and Benicia. It is very good to be back playing summer ball again, and we have 50+ games remaining on our schedule between now and early August when we finish with the Summer Series in San Diego. This Oregon trip will be one of our highlights for the summer, and a trip we hope can become a regular part of our schedule. By the time we leave for Oregon, we'll have about 15 games under our belts (and I hope my '07s have all their Sr. trips out of the way by then.)

06catcherdad, Will you be at the USABF world series in San Diego? We are going to be there and it would be cool if I could meet you.

Dow, No, unfortunately that isn't the week that we are going to be playing in San Diego. We'll be there the previous week, playing in the West Coast Summer Series. We've never played in the USABF tournament, but really like the Summer Series a lot so we're sticking with that one. This year we're going back as defending champions so that'll be a neat experience for the boys, to see if they can repeat. It'll be tough as there are 28 teams and most of them are pretty darned good, but its going to be interesting and fun no matter how it turns out. Good luck with USABF, I would like to meet you and any of the other HSBBW parents out there, don't hesitate to drop by and say hello if you're ever at one of our games. I'm the middle aged, overweight coach with a graying goatee. I'm easy to pick out, everyone else is younger and more fit (and better looking too )

06catcherdad, Is there a website for the Summer series? I'd like to see the teams involved. Our Spokane Dodgers 17u team got a few lumps in its first tournament but "R" won the first game of this weekend's tournament against the Columbia Riverdogs.. and our team pounded the ball. Who's heading for Pullman?
