What is the standard starting position for the 60? For example, I was timed today from a base-runners position. Is that normal? I seem to remember that the starting position is facing the direction in which you will run.

Also, is it usually started on first movement of the runner or is it a prompt from a coach?

Thanks alot.

Andrew,
It depend's on the equipment.
Some showcases have Electronic beam stop watches.

Most everybody start's in the base running position.
and the clock start's when you break the beam.
The start is were you can cut a couple of 10th's off your time.

Speed experts say you need to pick a finish beyond the finish so you dont slow up as you finish.
