Does anyone know anything about this showcase? It is in Fishkill NY, June 9-10-11. My son got an invite at his school, C/O Varsity Baseball Coach. Do not know who nominated him. He also has an opportunity to go to Perfect Game East Showcase during this time.
Any info/ comments would be greatly appreciated.

We got an invite to that one too. WE have decided to pass due to a full schedule anyway. Our son is going to a PG in June. I was not able to find any real info on BOD. It may be reall good but I know of no one here that was invited or that has gone in the past.

I can help you with any of your questions if you want to drop me a PM.

Also, just this past week Perfect Game has teamed up with Baseball on Display for this event. It will join their Sunshine list of events as a "Sunshine Northeast". This will help the players in the Notheast and cut down on the travel and cost.

I'm gald to see that PG and other baseball Scouting Organization's are combineing there Effort's.
It will only help those Player's and Family's to achieve there goal of playing at the next level.
Also help the Scout's and Recruiter's in there effort's to find a good fit for there Program's.

why would anybody think about not going to a showcase that has all the top schools committed
to being there?the northeast was always treated
like a stepchild, the showcases that are put on would very seldom have schools attend outside
the northeast[college select,top 96,blue chip,
select fest etc.]that is not saying there is anything wrong with any of these.however, many players and there parents wouldn't mind being exposed to the major school throughout the country.the last time i checked, exposure is what it's all about in recruiting.baseball on display is bring all the schools,n.e.and the
big out of the area schools to you.they also have many of the top players from the n.e.and
canada that will be there.without spending big
dollars on airfare, rental cars and extra time away for travel going to the south[all the recruiters will be in n.y.]you can stay in the
area and this showcase brought everthing to you

these are the some of the schools that have committed to being there;miss.state, boston college, clemson,u.of tenn.,wake forest, vanderbilt,u.of virginia,u.of s.florida,
cental florida,florida atlantic u.,stetson u.,
univ.of south carolina,pittsburgh,notre dame,
unc,unc greensboro,unc ashville,unc wilmington,
n.c.state,duke,maryland,maine,iowa,michigan,
michigan state,illinois,florida state,florida,
alabama,missouri state,cental missouri state,
mercer,jacksonville u.,dartmouth,college of
charleston,f.d.u.,pepperdine,long beach state,
lamar,lipscomb,georgia tech,elon,southeastern
louisiana,v.c.u.,and many,many more.
is it me or am i at a different movie?why would a good play not want to be where all the schools are?

thank you

the weekend of the super-regional,thats the date
of this showcase.the comment from the recruiters
is that they hope they won't be there[they would
hope to be at the super regional and a few will make it there].does that answer your pointed
question.

understand there may be state playoffs that weekend.however, probably only the finals.some kids might not be able to make the showcase.p.g.
has there sunshine east[ft.myers]south[texas]
and west[calif.]that weekend.let me call mr. ford and tell him the n.e.kids still may have
some playoffs and that he's picked the wrong weekend.

Last year the state playoffs ran right through those dates, that's why we decided not to this showcase. The ABSOLUTELY no refunds thing sort of sealed the deal for us as this is a pretty expensive showcase. But it looks like a real good one. Thanks to Coach Merc for getting the info mailed to us.

I know that you said that "tongue-in-cheek" about calling Mr. Ford but let me put my two cents in anyway. We were originally signed up for Sunshine East but decided to withdraw because it's a weekend in June before school gets out. My son would have to fly down on Thurs. night, miss school on Friday (which is no big deal except it's possible he'd have a final exam that day), and then fly home on Sunday night to make it to school on Monday (also a possible exam day). Plus there was the possibility of the aforementioned state playoffs. By the way, Jim Arp of PG was VERY accommodating in allowing us to transfer our deposit to another showcase. I'm not suggesting they picked the "wrong" weekend, it was just wrong for us. I'm sure they'll get a great turnout as always and I'm sorry we're going to miss it.
