So I am planning to attend Headfirst Honor Roll in Richmond. I am just wondering how strong the talent is. We play in a league with the average pitcher throwing around 78-82 mph, a couple guys can get to high 80's low 90's but they have been gone all year at pre-draft showcases. Being from Canada, I am just worried that I go down to a showcase like this and its filled with draft potential players. I've played with or against a number of guys who got drafted this year and although I think I could play with them, I don't think theres any way I would get looked at over them. Anyway, thanks for your help.

baseballhsplayer, Welcome to the HSBBW.
If I was you, I would not care what the talent is.
You go out there and do your best, and you will be seen.
You cannot control who shows up at a showcase.
But you can control how you and you alone shows up.
Be in baseball shape and go out and beat those so called good players.

The talent level at Headfirst is high end HS varsity. It is NOT primarily draft potential players. You won't find yourself trying to stand out among a sea of draft picks. Most pitchers I saw were mid-80s. A few in the high 80s.

Very well run showcase, terrific staff, and the colleges are there to find players. You go to Headfirst because you want to get looked at by high academic colleges - DIII's and Ivy's.
