If one performs well at a Perfect Game ID showcase, is that how they will get to the higher level Perfect Game showcases? And do any college coaches or scouts attend the PG ID showcases?

Leftycatcher, My son (2007) attended a PG ID Showcase in January and we both thought he perfomed well. The posting of his performance still is not on the web but he did receive an invitation a couple of weeks ago to the Sunshine East Showcase in Ft. Myers. I have to think that off of his ID showing that got him the invite to Sunshine East. Yes, there were 2 pro scouts at his ID event but no college coaches as it was during the 'dead period'.

Leftycatcher,
Yes, we use the ID Showcases as a means of evaluating players for our national event invitations. If your evaluation is good you will likely get an invitation. But, this is just one way we find national caliber talent to invite to our events.

You need to also understand that although there may not be a lot of scouts at our ID events there is extensive use of our database and scouting reports by them.

Also, I am working on the Illinois Scouting Report now. Our regional director's computer was hit by a virus that caused his hard drive to crash and he had to snail mail the information to me that has caused some delays. We should have it up soon.

Hi Bama, long time no chat. Anyway, our son Evan Fields attended an ID showcase in Escondido in November of '03, did very well got an invite to the nationals but we couldn't make it, he went to Australia to play Goodwill Series for Area Code Baseball. My question is will he get an invite to the nationals again in '04 or does he have to go to another ID showcase prior to those nationals? Thanks for all your help, PG is the best!

Bama,

How much does it cost to go to the ID showcases? And how long do they last?

Thanks,

Robert

My son attended the ID showcase in West Chester this past weekend. I've seen it takes 4-6 weeks to have the profiles posted, but do the invites for the national events come sooner?

No, 6 weeks from the event date seems to be the normal turnaround time for the evaluation report, even for a national event. A summary of top prospect highlights may be posted earlier depending on the event.

LC,
The ID Camps are $295 and they last all day (generally 8:00AM to around 7:00PM).
