My son received a text from a rep from the Houston Astros asking for his email address so he can send an invitation to a tryout for this event. Apparently it is a good showcase attended by many scouts. My son has not been to any "high profile" showcases. How do you suppose his name got on the list and does anyone have information good or bad about the event? Thanks.

The East Coast Professional Showcase is one of the top events of the summer. There will be plenty of the top players there.

Congratulations on your son's selection for the tryouts. I'd say that's a good sign that his efforts on and off the field are paying off.

Son got invited to tryout for Area Code and ECP. Was contacted by a bunch of schools asking what dates he will be at the tryouts, saying they will see him there, ect. So the upshoot is that just the tryouts, it seems, are a good deal as far as attendance by schools in addition to the pro teams. We have a couple of people that we know that went to one or the other, and had nothing but good things to say, so if he makes it, bite the $ bullet (as far as plane tickets, ect) and go.
