The idea is to expose them to the "showcase" type format. It is really going to be an All-Star game with a combine run through prior.
It will be much easier for a lot of those kids come their high school years if they know the drill early (run the 60, throw from the outfield, take your ground balls, etc.)
I am by no means suggesting that these kids should be "showcased" to colleges/pro scouts this early.
Maybe my choice of wording is wrong, I want to bring back the All-Star game, but make it a little more in-depth. These kids won't know what to work on unless they are told where they are and where they need to be. Easier for goal setting.

My pleasure . . . I am really looking forward to it. It has been quite some time since I have watched a youth game with a "buzz" in the air, hopefully this brings it back!
