mad...A few years ago, I think that had one or two Jugs and the rest Stalkers.

I think they use Stalkers now.

-----------

Whatever you do...Save your money and go to one of their showcases, if invited.

Especially if you are a pitcher!

Are there any differences between how the guns measure velocity? I have heard that different guns may yield different results. Thanks

Been,

Here are a couple discussions concerning different radar guns (there are more, do a search using the Find tab):

Thanks! Informative...but when they start talking about cosine's, that's when I knew it was a bit over the top. Good to hear that the "experts" are taking into account the different factors. I'll just have to remember all the details for if/when I get my next speeding ticket.

I think the new Bushnell gun must be better than the old one (at least what was described in the links posted by DAD10). I bought one of the new Bushnells off ebay for $75. We used it vs. the $800 jugs gun this past weekend.

One of the coaches and I sat on the hill side behind the plate, about 50-60 feet behind the catcher. So with a 46 foot rubber, we were 90-100 feet from the pitcher, and obviously shooting through the fence. Our angle was through the LH batters box to the pitcher (nearly all batters were RH).

Our readings were very similar. On 25 pitches, we had the same speed or +/- 1mph on 19 or 20 of the pitches. The others were 2-3 mph difference. Not sure why.

For youth purposes at least, the new Bushnells seem fine.
