need some advice. My son Kyle is 2010 grad and has been invited to blinn pg event. he had secondary internal impingement due to sick scapular and gleniod internal rotator deficiency. mri came back clean, labrum clean, rotator cuff clean. His first outing feb 27th vs clear creek he came in a 5-5 tie and shut them down for 4 innings. He felt great during outing and was cruising 85-86 and hit 87 about a dozen times on the stalker. Next day he could not throw and we shut him down immediately. fast forward 5 weeks and he has cleaned up grid problem doing sleeper stretch. scapular is great due to plus push-ups and rehab. Dr has him on interval throwing program and he has been totally pain free for 3 weeks now. he will do another bullpen saturday and he has been given the ok to compete again. wuld you suggest he participate at the pg event in another 4 weeks if his velocity is back to peak levels or would you wait until further in the summer to showcase his skills?? He feels great, is throwing great in rehab and seems ready to go

I attended this even last year,so while I cant tell you about the injury(while I do feel your pain,literally)I will tell you about the field and event itself

The field is pretty nice,but it gets very hot out there.I went to it in early june last year,and it was also in Brenham. The field is a fast surface,because it is so dry. They will have you run the 60 first, and its on a field separate from the baseball field. This is a slower surface and the grass is a bit higher,so expect that. The person who threw BP threw it from a very close,almost nontraditional distance. Be ready for it to come in fast.

how many players were present and how many innings did pitchers throw...also as a catcher what would you say the ave velocity was...

Id have to say over 100 at the camp,but since they break you into teams(gold,red,green,etc) and they also have you run as pitchers,catchers,outfielders,etc it didnt seem as big. They ran the camp very well,and there was little down time.

The pitchers were allowed to throw 3 innings each,and the entire team batted(meaning about 11 guys hit)and it was an extended,but controlled game.Each hitter got to hit about 3-4 times/game. Also,if the pitcher had pitched the night before,they were good about letting them skip pitching. The average velocity was around the low 80`s,Id say. Obviously,there were some flame throwers. One of the guys I caught threw 90-92 and was just filthy. He signed with Florida International
