Does anyone have any experience with the TOP GUNS?

"Not a showcase, but very best "cutting edge" college prospect exposure camp". . .

Thanks!

Never have posted here before, but I couldn't resist. Be careful with TOP GUNS if you like your money. They'll cancel the camp and keep it, like they did in Florida last Thanksgiving. Rook, the owner is very good about leaving phone messages and saying he's trying to work out a refund, but it's funny how you can never talk to him. And he won't answer email. I see he's the coach at some high school now - I bet they are proud.

If you're going to make accusations by name, how about if you put your name in the post?

it's true. i hear they're pretty much done.. cancelled their florida event and kept everybody's money. on top of that, they didn't pay the coaches from las vegas last year and the coaches will no longer attend. it's a bad situation. we were going to attend last year, but went to the jo's in arizona instead. i'm glad we did.

Not surprised. They drop names of some great coaches in their snazzy folio. I feel bad for them if that's true. The High School's baseball page spells out:
“I” - initiative, take the initiative to do the right thing
“N” - nurturing, nurture others through the quality of your actions
“T” - teamwork, service the team before self
“E” - excellence, display excellence in all we do
“G” - giving, give 110 percent at all times
“R” - respect, respect each other
“I” - intelligence, know your job better than anyone
“T” - true, be true to what inside you
“Y” - you and I can make a difference

My take on it is:

"I" I got your money, sucker
"N" NO refunds. Period.
"T" This is a great country.
"E" Even if I cancel it, NO refunds.
"G" Go away. I'm not going to call you back.
"R" Reckon you'll be comin back to another camp?
"I" I still got your money, sucker.
"T" Thanks
"Y" You lose

It about time for the TOP GUNS **** Shoot - will they cancel Las Vegas next week or not????????
Did they actually get enough people to hold this thing???????

I did find the following on Washington/Idaho Better Business Bureau site - it's from 2006, but hits the nail on the head for last year's Orlando fundraiser. Watch out - I see they are already pushing a Florida camp in November, again.

BBB Rating

Based on BBB files, this business has a BBB Rating of F.

Reasons for this rating include:

Complaints about this baseball scouting service mostly concern refund issues. Some complaints allege that camps are cancelled if they don't meet their "minimal player registration" necessary to operate the events and that consumers are told their children can attend other camps at other times rather than getting a refund.

Other complaints concern consumers wanting refunds when they themselves have had to cancel. The company states that there is a 90-day policy on returns.

Complaints also allege that they are unable to contact anyone at the company by phone, and that emails received from the company are vague at best.

Would love to hear from Gary Ward, who they quote:

“No one can match the format of Top Guns. The combination of clinics, instruction, playing
time and evaluation. This camp format is rock-solid, organized to the minute. What a breath of fresh
air for players, parents and coaches.” - Gary Ward, New Mexico St., Hall of Fame Coach at Oklahoma St.
