I went to one in minnesota and yes it is a showcase. It is worth going to because the coaches they have on staff will give you a fair evaluation on where their skills are at. Plus, if you do well at the tryout, they might invite you to tournaments and camps in florida, arizona and places like that.

i know a local player went to one in mass. got invited to vero beach for a week, for a cost of 3000 plus air fare. not what i would consider an invite. but i haven't been around showcases for a few years. seems a little pricey for an invite.

Our local invite says the tryout fee is $99 and $50 for an extra position.

It goes on to say,

" Players will contact Baseball factory to find out if they have been selected to compete on an Under Armour National Tournament Team, to participate in an Under Armour National Training Camp, or other events including the Baseball Express Cape Cod High School Classic, as seen on MLB.com and ESPNU. "

It also says, " Players will receive a verbal evaluation from baseball factory over the phone within 72 hours after the tryout. "

I am assuming that the expenses, should one make a team or be invited to a camp, will be explained or made available when/if selected.

I believe that anyone can register for a try out at www.baseballfactory.com
