It is one of the few showcases you cannot get an invite for on Perfectgame.org, does anyone know if this showcase is sold out? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if its sold out or not, but I went last year and it was the best showcase i've been to yet. I know you need certain academic requirements such as about 1200+ SAT score and 3.6+ GPA... I guess I wasn't really much help...

My son just got a invite today, so it must not be sold out.

I'm not sure of the requirements for this showcase, but my son won't take the SAT until April and he has a 3.4 GPA.

I received mine today as well. The requirements are to have atleast one of the following, a 3.3 GPA, 1200 SAT and a 24 on the ACT. I'm currently looking for a sponsor.

Dates are a problem here as well - first two days of finals week - kind of ironic that an academic showcase would interfere with school...

Depends on where you are, most schools down south are done by then. My son's school will have been out for almost 3 weeks by the time of the academic showcase.

Good point - school calendars vary widely... but with my son twisting my arm to take finals early and go, I do wish it were a week later...

My son went a couple of years ago and the service academies were all there and recruited pretty aggressively after the showcase.

In The Hoosier state we'll be out of school for about a week but the state tourney will still be going on...doesn't make sense to drop a chunk of change and not be able to attend because you're still playing for your high school team. I too wish they could maybe move it...... to the beginning or middle of August ...perfect time for these academic kids to get a solid look before the early signing period.

I had a great experience at the Academic last year. I did very well and some schools I am very interested in contacted me. The showcase was especially good because it catered to the schools I am looking to go to.

cubs, how long after you completed the online form did the linked invite get to you? I filled one out for an event in August about a month ago and haven't heard a word back yet. Maybe the invites go out on a 'rolling' basis, with August events coming out later??
