My son is a great pitcher, a really good firstbaseman, and an okay hitter... My question is should he go to showcases as pitcher only, since that is the road he will most likely be taking? Would his fielding and hitting, which aren't his strong skills, bring down his ranking as a pitcher?

One has nothing to do with the other

I would let him him do it all--you never know when a coach will see something he likes in a player

Completely different evaluation situations. I would have him showcase at both positions.

A cautionary tale. My son only showcased as a pitcher. He has always been a good fielder (1st base), he found his swing and had a great year at the plate. College Coach (DIII, where some players are double listed) only knows him as a pitcher, but I wonder if he isn't more valuable as a potential two position player. (at least for now)?
