Hey all,

for those who don't know I am a '09 right handed pitcher that has suffered a Laberal tear. I have been sidelined since the beginning of the season. Since being diagnosed with this tear, I have gotten out of pitching shape..I am getting back into shape. I have been getting A LOT of showcase invitations- TPX 96, Perfect game, Go Yard, and I would have applied for Selectfest. I do not know what to do..I am no where near showcase shape, have yet to throw a varsity inning, and am slowly coming back from this injury with pain erratically coming and going. I guess my question is, my injury has completely = moderated = the schedule I had set up, when do i go to showcases..if i am not ready for any showcases this summer what do i do for marketing myself to college teams?

Sorry to hear about your injury, but I'm glad to hear that you are getting back into shape! I really only have one piece of advice and it's based upon the following quote from your post...

All I can say is "get better first." Believe it or not, you do have some time to still get noticed or attend showcase events if you so desire. It may not be in the real near future. But you don't need to give up on the idea wholeheartedly either.

In my opinion, as a parent of a 2010 player, you need to only be concerned about getting healthy right now. You've already admitted that you're not nearly 100% healthy. So why be concerned about pouring your money into showcasing yourself right now, when there is no feasible way that you will do all that well compared to all the strong, healthy players who will be there too? To me, attending ANY showcase event when you are admittedly "no where near showcase shape" is simply a waste of time and money, and more importantly, is a better way to worsen your injury and delay your progress even more.

Get healthy first!!

I am in total agreement with the above post---you need to be healthy before you can perform---you want to be in tip top baseball condition before you go any further

The second item should be making the varsity team
