Many of you know bbscout the thread poster, scout, baseball man, and friend... I simply know him as Dad. My Dad passed away last night in his sleep. He loved his family, friends, career, and this website.

deemax - This hit me like a ton of bricks. I just saw him a few weeks ago at a Stanford game...we briefly chatted.

Your father was a WONDERFUL man who loved his children and grandchildren VERY much. Every time I talked with him over the past several years...he ALWAYS spoke of his family and the happiness you all brought to him. Every single time!

I am so very, very sorry. Please accept my condolences to you and your entire family. He and you are in my prayers.

deemax - my deepest, deepest sympathies...

He was our biggest star here on the hsbbweb. I read every post he ever made and always checked daily to see whether he posted or not.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news.

This place will never be the same Frown

So very sorry to hear this. Your Dad was always so helpful here, so positive, just a great, great member of the HS Web community.

I lost my Dad when I was 20 and am so sorry for your loss. I hope all the great memories you must have will help you and your family through this most difficult time.

I had to read your post several times to be sure you were posting about bbscout,I'm stunned and very sadden by this news.

Your dad was very helpful to me by answering questions about scouting and minor league baseball, I saved all his PMs. He even introduced himself to my son while he was scouting the Royals in Arizona.

Your father touched many lives though this website. My deepest, deepest sympathies to you and your family

deemax,
My deepest sympathies are extended to your entire family.
Doug was so proud of his family and loved each of you so very much. His feelings for his grandchildren were wonderful could readily be seen when he changed his Avatar to their pictures.
I met Doug through the HSBBW. He was so kind to me and provided so much encouragement and advice to help our son. I will never forget his PM to me when I questioned the likelihood of a DIII getting scouted and drafted.
Despite Julie's earlier request, I just could never delete that first set of PM's with your Dad. It brings a tear to my eye to go back and read them now.
I loved seeing and speaking with your Dad when he was scouting at Stanford.
There is an emptiness knowing bbscout won't be posting on the HSBBW. We all benefited tremendously everytime he did.
I am so very, very sorry to read this about your Dad.

deemax,

Never knew you and bbscout were related. I'm truly sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts and the thoughts of so many others are with you.

While I never really conversed with your dad, I have enjoyed the few discussions I've engaged in with you and I hope there will be more opportunities to do so.
