If you could pick only one. Why would you want to see this player in today's game?

Knowledge is Power! Thank you Mavens and HSBBWEB!

Question:

Cy Young - As a father of a pitcher, I'd want to see how a pitcher of an earlier time compares with today. The guy won 511 games. No one will ever touch that record.

Although all of them would be something truly to see. The splended splinter gets my vote. I would have loved to see him play. Knowledge of hitting, there was no one better.

I saw clemente play and he was great, saw him play against the giants when i was young. No one outhustled him. Tremendous athlete. Could hit any pitch, anywhere.

I hate to bring in another sport, but if we're going to clone for athletic purposes, Michael Vick has to be at the top of the list. Nobody else approaches him for pure unmatched athletic abilities.

Among baseball players, I have to go off the list and go with Say-Hey-Willie Mays...still the greatest IMHO.

No problem with any of the above--my choice is WILLIE MAYS-- nobody had the talent he had nor has anyone ever had the passion and love of the game that "SAY HEY" had

I would want to see the Mick in his prime before the knee injuries.

After you clone your candidate, he has to pass by HS, College, and the Minors to learn how to hit the new pitches of this era, if he is a hitter, or how to throw'em, if he is a pitcher.

If they don't learn, then you will see Babe Ruth doing the ridiculus against Pedro or schilling, and Cy Young being rocketed by Alex, Bonds, and others.
