do you feel this is a advantage ?
hers my problem i can hit with power to all fields rt. handed all though i'm am a natural left hander . my hitting instructor feels hitting left handed is a waste since i can swing hard where it is pitched . i wanted another tool in my arsenal .i think i can pick up the side arm/sub righty's and lefty's better being closer to 1st . i can hit with more power lefty but he wont let me try .is this a golden rule that switch hitters must be only pull hitters ??

if you want some of this plate ,COME TAKE IT!
it not nice to steal on my pitcher !!!! i get VERY angry when you steal on my pitcher . that means i have to go to the mound and lie to him and take the blame .... you Dont want me that angry!

Well, I'm not an expert on this by any means, but my son is a switchhitter so I've been watching and observing him hit for a few years.

My recomendation to you is to not ever let anyone discourage you from something you want to achieve.
If my son listened to every nay-sayer that talked to him, he would have quit years ago.
Glad he didn't.
Its been a nice tool to have, and its one he works on daily.

Practice on your own.
Apply what your instructor teaches you right handed to your left side.

Go out and beat the odds.

Level out your swings with hard work, repetition's, and drills.

I have a hunch you can do it! Smile

Hello;

The advantages of "switch hitting" to a team winning performance is without a doubt a "no brainer".
1. when we travel International I select a minimum of 5 left handed hitters for our teams.
2. The slider from a RHP will neutralize your right handed hitters.
3. A switch hitter from the left side can hit to the shortstop's right and "beat" the throw to 1b.
4. In Australia, Japan, China and Korea for 25 years against the National and State Teams, our LHP had an advantage. Why, because the hitters left or right do not see many LHP [usually only 20%] of the pitching in these countries.
5. At our SSK clinics and AC tryouts, I often made switch hitters of the right handed "fast runners".
6. HS baseball and summer baseball is development before winning.
7. Mark Newman,V-President NY Yankees "we are all teachers"

Please have your coaches call me or e-mail.
