As a side note, every preseason football game has been playing a promo for USA Fotball.
An organization started in 2002 in partnership with the NFL to promote youth football is more well known and has better marketing savy than the almost 30 year old USA Baseball organization.
With two national teams winning gold in international competition, I have yet to see a word in print or a word on a newscast mentioning this accomplishment.
I have read articles about the Junior Olympics for such things as tennis and track and field, but the only mention of the baseball teams was that local players made the trials.
Why isn't the media patting the boys on the back for representing the nation in baseball?

In our area the media is covering the MLB, LL, Senior League, NBC, and Home Talent baseball. Combine that with College/Pro football, and then throw in some Bond issues for the needed media turmoil and the Sports page is full.
WillieBobo, I officially acknowledge the National team but I am even more aware that the world evolves around more than a tournament selected baseball team.

BTW, I just saw a fine film clip of the winning hit in the local 12 year old girls softball team in advancing to the final of their World Series on the news.
