Use golf ball wiffle balls, and a 1 in. diam. bat.
You don't feel the power of your contact again'st the ball.
But it's good for hand eye cordination.

Exactly! I practice with golf size whiffle balls with a friend of mine in the backyard all the time, and it works for me Smile

Don't know if this is good or not but in addition to his hitting off a T or hitting live pitching in a cage, I have dyed lima beans with food coloring (red, blue, green, yellow) and thrown them to him for bp. Before he hits it, he has to call the color. He's even hit colored popcorn kernels on occasion. To this day, he's got a bag of beans in his baseball bag. He's 18 now.

All of these are great drills to go with. Never tried the beans but have heard of others using it with great success.

Basically the concept is if you can focus in to hit a smaller target with a smaller bat - a broom stick or the Thunderstick - will make a baseball look like a beach ball.

Just make sure they are hitting it solid.

It's a very good thing to do...Stay off the tee and throw whiffle balls....Baseball size and with a bat....Don't use smaller size balls and bat.....It's not about hand-eye coordination.....

It's about timing pitches with efficient body movement with the same size ball and bat you will use in a game......

Way back when, I used golf sized wiffle balls, tennis balls, all kinds of things.

They're a waste of time like lots of things in baseball.

Stick with real balls and real bats. Buy a screen.
