I've heard that any S** 24 hours before a game was not a good idea, that it decreases performance levels for the athlete. I read an article on this once and some athletes said that it actually helped to relax them when preparing for a game and that they performed better.

I believe the biological S** clock does kick in during the high school years and does increase emotions, adrenaline and thought processes.

Is there a way to channel this rush into performance?

Does activity during the 24 hour time frame have a negative effect at game time?

Is high school a time to prepare your athlete about these issues?

Knowledge is Power! Thank you Mavens and HSBBWEB!

I believe it is less significant than the emotional damage that can be done when boyfriend/girlfriend have "issues" outside of hugging and kissing...that don't get resolved quickly!

To understand the workings of a curve ball, you need to understand the principle of rotating bodies in a "Fluid Medium" (aka the Mangus effect). So pitching IS another form of Fluid Management. Hmmmm. This requires further thought ... there may be some significance, but, for the life of me, I can see what it would be.....Big Grin Big Grin

Dad04,
I think Horning and Max Magee from the GB Packer glory years discounted that 24 hour myth. They both had a couple good games between them.
