Can anyone help me find the tubelike device that will pick up baseballs? I know it's been on here before but all my search terms come up empty. I've googled as well, with no luck on the search terms I've tried.

Anyone remember this thing?

You can make one pretty easily from 3" PVC

I could never figure out a mechanism to keep them in the tube, though. I'd have no clue. I always go way overboard on things like this and I'm sure I'd finally get it to work by sticking that 3" PVC onto the end of a Shop-Vac and dragging it around the field.

First off Krak, you're going to need to screw one of these into each baseball...

Then you'll have to rig this up somehow to your length of 3" PVC pipe...

Should work slick!

My only suggestion is to not try and take any of this through airport security.

Not everyone is as big of baseball fan as those of us here on the HSBBW!

That's the one!!! Mike Compton's gizmo. I think he was the first to develop it. Real nice guy, former catcher, currently a minor league manager with, I think the Phillie's.

My middle son took catcher lessons from him years ago in Tampa at Dave Kent's and Jody Reed's "Hitting Zone".

Yes, THAT is the site I remember. I thought the other one looked short compared to what I thought I'd seen in these forums before.

THANKS!

A device to pickup baseballs? What's next, a brain-interface to automatically succeed at X-Box? Good grief!
