I'm not clear on the hitting numbers. Do you know what scale they are using?
They used to measure bat speed in past years and score 1-5 based on swing appearance. But I don't know what the current numbers mean, 20 up to 45. But they do seem to reveal batting ability. The St Louis kids who got 40s were all good players. Oakville's Cody Terry is the son of former Cardinal pitcher Scott Terry. Johnny Kelly is an excellent Lafayette player (mostly a pitcher I think) Eureka's Ryan Clubb is probably the brother of Tim Clubb who's now at Mo State.
