Looking for the rule in D2 that would allow an athlete to compete after they sign a professional contract. I know a guy who signed with the Red Sox in the summer of 2007 and competed in the Dominican Summer League. Was released in early 2008. I heard that under that situation an athlete can compete in D2 as long as they played less than 90 days and never made it to A ball. Does anyone know the rule?
